HP LaserJet and Color LaserJet Enterprise Printers - 10.0x.00, or 10.0x.10 Supply memory error messages

Issue

The printer is unable to read the supply memory data.
The supply is present in the printer but memory chip cannot be read.
<Supply>= Toner cartridge or Image Drum color (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow)

The 0X is a two digit code that represents a particular toner cartridge:
  • 00: Black Toner cartridge
  • 01: Cyan Toner cartridge
  • 02: Magenta Toner cartridge
  • 03: Yellow Toner cartridge
  • 05: Black Image Drum
  • 06: Cyan Image Drum
  • 07: Magenta Image Drum
  • 08: Yellow Image Drum

Solution

  1. Open the front door and remove the supply suspected.
  2. Ensure that the supply is a genuine HP supply.
    note:
    HP cannot guaranty non-HP supplies will be recognized properly by the printer.
  3. Reinsert the toner cartridge. Ensure that it is properly installed and seated in place.
  4. If the message displays again, turn the printer off, then on again.
  5. If the error persists, replace the supply suspected with a genuine HP part.
  6. If message persists, contact HP Customer Support.
note:

HP policy on non-HP supplies
Hewlett-Packard Company cannot recommend the use of non-HP toner cartridges or supplies, either new or remanufactured.
note:
For HP printer products, the use of a non-HP toner cartridge or a refilled toner cartridge does not affect either the warranty to the customer or any HP support contract with the customer. However, if printer failure or damage is attributable to the use of a non-HP toner cartridge, refilled toner cartridge or supply, HP will charge its standard time and materials charges to service the printer for the particular failure or damage.
