HP Thin Clients - Make USB Drives Visible for Local Users in WES/XPe Based HP Thin Clients

Issue

As per default, users cannot view locally attached USB devices.
To enable this option see solution.

Solution

Follow these steps:
  1. Login as Administrator with EWF turned Off
  2. Go to start and enter gpedit.msc
  3. Then navigate to User configuration
  4. Select Administrative Templates
  5. Select Windows Components
  6. Navigate to Windows Explorer
  7. Search for and open Prevent access to Drives on my computer
  8. Check enable
  9. Under Options in the pick one of the following components field choose Do not restrict drives.
