HP EliteBook 2570p Notebook PC - Removing and Replacing the Fan

Introduction

This document is provided to assist in removing and replacing the fan for the HP EliteBook 2570p Notebook PC.

Minimum skill level

The end user requires no hardware-specific training to replace the defective part. The end user should have familiarity with system hardware and software requiring repair.

Tools required

  • Small, Phillips-head P1 screwdriver
  • Flat-bladed alignment tool

The replacement part number will vary depending on the fan that is being replaced. If a part is listed as "Yes" under "Requires Return" then the defective part needs to be returned to HP. Click here for more information on returning parts to HP.

Remove the battery.

Remove the service door.

Loosen the two captive P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the fan to the system board and the base enclosure.

Lift the fan out partially and disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
5
Lift and remove the fan out of the base enclosure.

Align the fan over the standoffs on the system board and base enclosure.

Tighten the two captive P1 Phillips-head screws to secure the fan to the system board and base enclosure.

Replace the service door.
