HP Designjet 10, 20,120 Printers - Mac OS: Unable to Install RIP with Greater Than 1.5GB RAM

Issue:
HP Designjet Software RIP v 2.1/3.0/3.1 cannot be installed on MacOS when more than 1.5 GB of memory is present. A workaround is provided below.
Workaround
The installer for the Mac software RIP incorrectly reports the available memory in the machine if more than 1.5 GM is available. For machines with more than 1.5 GB of memory, the installer always reports the available memory as -2048 MB. Due to this, the installation does not let the installation continue, and the RIP cannot be installed. See the following screenshot for an example:
Figure : Installer Report
The workaround is to remove physical memory modules until less than 1.5 GB is available (usually, remove three of the four installed 512 MB modules, leaving just one remaining). Reboot the Mac and install the RIP. Once the RIP is installed, re-insert the other memory modules again to return to "normal". The RIP does not have issues with large memory Macs at runtime; only the installer has an issue.
