HP DeskJet 1200C Printer - When Printing Labels, the Text Is Skewed or Slanted

Issue:
Skewed text appears on the page when printing labels on the HP DeskJet 1200C printer through the manual feed slot.
  note:
Labels are only officially supported through the manual feed slot on the rear of the printer. Only labels marked for use with HP LaserJet printers are supported.
Solution
If skewing continues, then you can load the labels through the input tray. However, there are some guidelines for using labels on the HP DeskJet 1200C printer.
Guidelines
  1. Use new label stock. Old labels tend to become dry and brittle. This increases the chance that a label will peel off and become jammed in the printer mechanism.
  2. Use paper labels. Clear plastic labels tend to peel when exposed to the internal heater of the printer. Also, the inks are not designed to work on plastic-coated media.
  3. Do not use a label sheet with missing labels. The gap in the sheet makes it easier for another label to come loose.
  4. Set the top margin of the page to at least 1/2 inch. Printing to the top of the page causes the printer to back up the media. This increases the chance that a label would get caught in the mechanism.
  5. Do not use the paper tray to feed labels. The paper tray path includes a 180 degree convex curve. This curve increases the chances of the label peeling off, especially if it is dry and brittle. The manual feed path has a 90 degree concave curve.
  6. Use only HP LaserJet or DeskJet printer approved label stock. Labels designed for typewriters or tractor feed printers can peel off in the printer mechanism.
  7. Always adjust the envelope/media size selector for the size of the label sheet you are using.
