DESCRIPTION
If you insert a USB recovery image before the new computer reaches the Google login screen, the touchpad may not work on a new computer.
This occurs because the touchpad firmware is updating during the initial startup of a new computer and inserting the USB recovery drive can interrupt the process and disable the touchpad.

To resolve the issue, update the Chrome OS to Stable Channel update 51.0.2704.106 (Platform version: 8172.62.0) or later.
