"Load Tray 1: Plain, Env#10" message displayed when trying to print envelopes from the envelope feeder.

Issue: "Load Tray 1: Plain, Env#10" message displayed when trying to print envelopes from the envelope feeder.

The envelope feeder is configured with:

- Type: Envelope
- Size: Envelope #10

When selecting "envelope feeder" as the source, the printer will display, "Load Tray 1: Plain, Env#10" on the control panel (see LoadTray1 callout). This happens even though the printer is still correctly configured.



HP is aware of this issue, and has addressed it with an interim printer firmware release (version 20120627_2200648_228387). This release will not be posted to HP.com, and can only be obtained via the HP call center. This interim release will also be incorporated into the publicly available FutureSmart 2 Service Pack 2 release, anticipated Fall 2012.

To obtain this interim release, please contact the HP call center, at 1-800-HP-INVENT.

Once the firmware has been updated, the following changes need to be made to both the printer, and software (MS Word 2010 shown for illustrative purposes):

1. Change the envelope feeder type back to "any", since the firmware update set it to "envelope". This can be done either on the control panel, or Embedded Web Server (shown below):
