HP iPAQ 900 Business Messenger Series - Using the Windows Media Player Application

Use the Windows Media Player application to play audio and video files stored on the device or on a storage card.
You can:
  • manually update a music library
  • play media files using the Voice Commander application
  • clear the Now Playing list
Tap Start > Programs > Windows Media to open the Windows Media Player application.

Updating a music library
You can manually update a library to make sure that it has links to any new files that you may have recently copied to your device or to a storage card.
  note:
When a storage card is inserted in the device, the Windows Media Player application prompts to update the music libraries.
Follow these steps to update a music library.
  1. Tap Start > Programs > Windows Media.
  2. Tap Menu > Library....

  3. On the Library screen, tap Menu > Update Library.... Wait for the files to be added.

  4. Tap Done.
Using the Voice Commander application to play media files
Play your media files by using the Voice Commander application on the device.
Follow these steps to play media files using the Voice Commander application.
  1. Press the Voice Commander key on the left panel of the device.
  2. Hold the device about 10 cm (3.94 inches) away from your face and say Play Music (Media File Name) to play the desired media file.
      note:
    The Play Music voice command will only play media files present in the playlist.
  3. Press the Voice Commander key and say Pause/Resume Music to pause or resume the media file.
Clearing the Now Playing playlist
Follow these steps to clear the Now Playing playlist.
  1. Tap Start > Programs > Windows Media.
  2. Tap Now Playing. The Now Playing playlist displays the currently playing file and any files that are queued next on the list.
  3. On the Now Playing screen, tap Menu > Clear Now Playing.

  4. When prompted, tap Yes.
  5. Tap ok.
  note:
