HP Officejet 6300 All-in-One Series - Transferring Images from a Memory Card to a Windows Computer

Introduction
This document explains how to transfer images from a memory card to a computer running Windows.
Transferring images from a memory card to a Windows computer
Follow these steps to transfer images from the memory card to a computer running Windows.
Step one: Insert the memory card
Follow these steps to insert the memory card into the All-in-One.
  1. Turn on the All-in-One by pressing the On button ().
  2. Locate the memory card slot that is compatible with your memory card.

    3. Secure Digital (SD), MultiMedia Card (MMC), Secure MultiMedia Card
    4. Memory Stick, Magic Gate Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo (with user-supplied adapter), Memory Stick Pro
  3. Turn the memory card so that the label faces up, and the contacts are facing the HP All-in-One.
  4. Insert the memory card into the corresponding memory card slot. Gently push the memory card into the memory card slot until it stops.
    The photo light next to the memory card slots on the All-in-One blinks indicating that a memory card has been inserted into one of the memory card slots.
  caution:
Attempting to remove a memory card while it is being accessed can damage files on the card. You can safely remove a card only when the photo light is not blinking. Also, never insert more than one memory card at a time as this can also damage files on the memory cards.
Step two: Transfer images
Select one of these methods to transfer the image files to the computer.
Transfer images using the HP Photosmart Essential 2.5 software
  note:
Make sure the HP Photosmart Essential software is installed on the computer. Click here to go the Software and Driver downloads page for your product. Select your product and click Check to automatically check if you have the latest version of the HP Photosmart Essential software installed.
Follow these steps to transfer images using the HP Photosmart Essential 2.5 software.
  1. Click Start, click All Programs, click HP, and then click HP Photosmart Essential 2.5.
  2. Click Skip on the Welcome to HP Photosmart window.
  3. Click View Library on the home page.
  4. Click Import Photos at the bottom left corner of the Library.
  5. Select the HP All-in-One as the source device to import the photos.
    A preview of the images on the memory card displays.
  6. Select the images to be imported and click Import to transfer the images to the computer.
      note:
    By default, the image files are saved in month and year folders depending on when they were taken. The folders are created under the C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Pictures folder.
After inserting the memory card into the HP All-in-One, the memory card appears as a drive on the computer. Follow these steps to transfer the images on the memory card to the computer.
  1. Press the Photo button to display the Photo menu.
  2. Press the down arrow button () to select Transfer to computer.
  3. Follow the prompts on the computer to complete the transfer of images.
