HP 7550 Series Plotters - Resets

Issue:
How to reset on the HP 7550A plotter.
Solution
A front panel reset is the equivalent of cycling power on the plotter and will return temporary menu settings to their default. Follow one of the procedures below:
  1. Press NEXT DISPLAY until RESET is in the upper-left corner of the display.
  2. Press the soft key above RESET.
  3. Press ENTER.
    -OR-
  1. Turn the plotter off then back on.
  2. The plotter will be reset according to pages 3-25 to 3-28 in the Operation and Interconnection Manual.
ISSUE: How to reset on the HP 7550 Plus plotter.
Solution
A front panel reset is the equivalent of cycling power on the plotter and will return temporary menu settings to their default. Follow one of the procedures below:
  1. Press NEXT DISPLAY until RESET is in the upper-right corner of the display.
  2. Press the F2 soft key above RESET.
  3. Press the F3 soft key to signify YES.
    -OR-
  1. Turn the plotter off then back on.
  2. The plotter will be reset according to pages 2-11 in the User's Guide.
ISSUE: How to do a "hard reset" on the HP 7550A plotter.
Solution
To return temporary AND continuous menu settings to their default, follow the procedure below:
  1. Turn the plotter off.
  2. Hold down the ENTER and FAST buttons.
  3. Turn the plotter on.
  4. Release the buttons after 5 seconds.
  5. After initialization, turn the plotter off and back on.
      note:
    After this reset, the baud rate will change to 2400 and dataflow will change to remote/eavesdrop. These will probably have to be reconfigured.

Solution
To return temporary AND continuous menu settings to their default, follow the procedure below:
  1. Turn the plotter off.
  2. Hold down the ENTER and 9 buttons.
  3. Turn the plotter on.
  4. Release the buttons after 5 seconds.
  5. All zeros should appear on the display.
  6. Turn the plotter off and back on.
