HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M651, HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M680 - Install the 2,500-sheet high-capacity input tray

Install the 2,500-sheet high-capacity input tray
This document provides the procedure to install the 2,500-sheet high-capacity input tray for the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M651 and MFP M680 models.

  1. Press the power button to turn off the product.

  2. Disconnect the power cable.

  3. Disconnect the USB or network cable.

  4. Remove the tape from the outside of the paper feeder.

  5. Open Tray 3 and Tray 4, and remove the packing material from each tray.

  6. Open Tray 5, and remove the packing material from inside the tray.

  7. Close the tray.

  8. Place the product on the paper feeder. Use the alignment pins on top of the paper feeder to position the product.
      caution:
    HP recommends that four people lift the product.

  9. Open the right door on the paper feeder.

  10. Rotate the lock lever upward into the locked position.

  11. Close the right door on the paper feeder.

  12. Connect the USB or network cable.

  13. Connect the power cable.

  14. Press the power button to turn on the product.

  15. Open Tray 3 and Tray 4.

  16. Adjust the paper guides to the correct markings for the paper size.

  17. Load paper in the trays. Make sure the paper stack is below the height-limit indicators.

  18. Close the trays, and then open Tray 5.

  19. Adjust the paper-width lever at the front of the tray to the correct paper size. Rotate the paper-length lever at the left, rear corner of the tray to the correct paper size.

  20. Load full reams of paper into the tray.

  21. Close the tray.

  22. Mac OS X: The list of installed options automatically updates during the first print job after installing the accessory. Setup is complete.
    Windows: When attaching the accessory before installing the product software, such as during initial product setup, this procedure is not necessary. When attaching the accessory after installing the product software, perform the following steps:
    1. Make sure the product is turned on and connected to the computer or network.
    2. Open the printers folder on the computer.
    3. Right-click the name of this product, and select Printer Properties.
    4. Click the Device Settings tab.
    5. Click the Installable Options section.
    6. In the drop-down box next to Automatic Configuration, select Update Now.
