HP Designjet L65500 and Scitex LX600, LX8x0 Printer Series - Calculating and displaying the remaining ink on the IPS

This document provides further detail on how the remaining ink in the ink cartridge is calculated and displayed on the IPS.
The IPS displays information about the status of the ink supplies. To access this information select: Information/Supplies. Amongst the other information displayed, there is information about the remaining ink. The remaining ink displayed from the IPS system is calculated in the following way:
Ink Level displayed in IPS = Cartridge Ink level available – Ink required to fill the intermediate tanks
Therefore, when a new ink cartridge containing 3000ml is installed, the IPS may display less than 3l (example below shows 2.6l for K and 2.7l for Y) even if the refill has not yet actually started. This is because the buffer of the intermediate tanks is considered.
