HP Printers - Bluetooth Guide for HP Printers

This document is for HP printers that support Bluetooth printing.
Bluetooth is available with some HP printers as a wireless printing option. Review the following Bluetooth printer compatibility lists, and then set up the connection to start printing.
For information on Bluetooth Smart, go to Bluetooth Smart (Bluetooth Low Energy) and HP Printers.

Printers with built-in Bluetooth

Certain HP printers have a built-in Bluetooth radio that supports pairing with a computer, mobile phone, or tablet to enable wireless printing.
  1. Turn on the Bluetooth radio on the printer. Depending on the model, press the Bluetooth button , or navigate to the Setup or Network menu to access Bluetooth settings.
  2. Open the Bluetooth settings on the computer or mobile device and confirm that the feature is enabled.
  3. Wait for the printer name to display in the list of discoverable devices, and then select the printer to confirm that you want to pair the devices.
  4. Open a document or photo, open the Print menu, and then select your printer to print.
The following HP printers have a built-in Bluetooth radio.
HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer (L411)
HP Photosmart C8180, C8183, C8188 Printers
HP Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One Printer (L511a)

Printers that require an adapter for Bluetooth printing

Some HP Deskjet, Officejet, and Photosmart printers released in 2008 and earlier support Bluetooth printing with a separately purchased Bluetooth adapter. Supported printers and HP Bluetooth adapters, such as the bt300 or bt500, are no longer available for purchase from HP. If you own a supported printer but do not have the adapter, you still might locate one through an online auction or retail website.
Example of an HP Bluetooth adapter
If you have a compatible adapter, insert it in into the USB or Pictbridge port that is typically on the front or side of the printer. Make sure the HP driver and software is installed (if you are printing from a Windows or Mac computer), and then pair the printer through the Bluetooth settings on the computer or mobile device.
