HP Designjet CP Series Printers - Target Markets

The HP Designjet 2800CP and 3800CP printers are based on the HP Designjet 2000CP and 3000CP printers, with an external Fiery X2-CP RIP included. The Fiery X2-CP RIP improves performance in two ways:

• Achieves a 60% increase in mechanical print speed when compared with the HP Designjet 2500CP and 3500CP printers, by using HP developed Varware and wide-mask technology.
• Provides faster processing times (3x to 4x faster for a typical PostScript file; when compared with the HP Designjet 2500CP and 3500CP printers via custom ASICs and a MIPS R5000 motherboard with a 200 MHz CPU.

The new Varware print modes are called High-Speed print modes, and there is a Photo/Best and Productivity/Normal High-Speed print mode.

The HP Designjet 2800CP and 3800CP printers are ideal for Commercial Print Service Providers, primarily Quick Printers and new to large-format PSPs, looking for both productivity and ease of use. They are also the best fit for those PSPs who already have a Fiery-driven device, since the learning curve for this new printer will be greatly reduced.
