HP Designjet Printers - Driver (HPGL/2 and RTL) for Windows 3.1 and 95, Using the Save Paper Option

Save Paper

Save Paper is a new feature in the driver that allows you to use less paper for print jobs. With the new settings Auto Rotate and Inked Area, you can select how to save paper by rotating or moving the print on the page.

Auto Rotate

With Auto Rotate selected to rotate a print, the media must:
  • fit on the available media in the HP DesignJet printer
  • be in portrait orientation; a rotated landscape portrait case does not save media
The paper source can be roll or sheet.

Inked Area

With Inked Area selected to move a print, the following conditions must be met:
  • The device supports Inked Area PJL command.
  • Paper source is roll.
Inked Area does not function with sheet source. If the paper source is sheet, this setting will not be available.
