DESCRIPTION
The external monitor remains blank for up to 60 seconds after hot plugging it into the computer. The issue occurs if the computer lid is closed at the time, even though the power options are set to Do nothing when the lid is closed.

RESOLUTION
Recover from this issue by performing one of the methods provided below:
Method 1. Press any key on the keyboard to wake the computer before hot plugging the monitor.
Method 2. Connect an external keyboard and press the Windows key + P to wake the monitor.
Method 3. Wait for the external monitor to wake and display content (20 to 60 seconds).
