HP LaserJet Managed MFP E72425, E72430, E77422, E77428, E78223, E78228 - 13.B2, 13.A3, 13.A4, 13.A5, 13.A8 jam error in tray 2, tray 3, or in the optional 2 x 520-sheet trays

Use the following procedure to check for paper in all possible jam locations related to tray 2, tray 3, or the optional 2 x 520-sheet trays. When a jam occurs, the control panel displays a message and an animation that assists in clearing the jam.

• 13.B2.D2 Jam in tray 2
• 13.A3.yz
• 13.A4.yz
• 13.A5.yz
• 13.A8.Az
• 13.A8.Dz

  caution:

The fuser can be hot while the printer is in use. Wait for the fuser to cool before handling it.

The procedure to clear a paper jam in Tray 3, or the optional 2 x 520-sheet trays, is the same as for Tray 2. Only Tray 2 is shown here.

1. Open the right door.

2. Gently remove any jammed paper from inside the right door.

3. Close the right door.

4. Open the tray.
   Figure : Open the tray

   
5. Gently remove any jammed or damaged paper from the tray.
   Figure : Remove jammed paper from the tray

   
6. Close the tray. Printing automatically resumes.
