HP EliteBook 2570p Notebook PC - Removing and Replacing the Hard Disk Drive
Introduction

The end user requires no hardware-specific training to replace the defective part. The end user should have familiarity with system hardware and software requiring repair.

The replacement part number will vary depending on the hard disk drive that is being replaced. If a part is listed as "Yes" under "Requires Return" then the defective part needs to be returned to HP. Click here for more information on returning parts to HP.

Remove the battery.

Loosen the four captive P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the hard disk drive to the base enclosure.

Pull the Mylar tab out from under its storage slot on the hard disk drive carrier.

Lift the Mylar tab to disconnect the hard disk drive from the system board and lift it out of the base enclosure.

Remove the four 3-mm P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the hard disk drive carrier to the hard disk drive.

Lift and remove the hard disk drive from the hard disk drive carrier.

Disconnect the SATA adapter from the hard disk drive.

Place the hard disk drive in a static dissipative bag.

Align the hard disk drive into the hard disk drive bay.

Press the hard disk drive down until it is fully seated into its connector on the system board.

Tighten the four captive P1 Phillips-head screws to secure the hard disk drive to the base enclosure.

Tuck the Mylar tab back into its storage slot on the hard disk drive carrier.
