Loading Paper, Cards, and Envelopes for HP Officejet 4610, 4620, Deskjet Ink Advantage 4610, and 4620 e-All-in-One Printer Series

Introduction

This document provides instructions for loading plain paper, cards, photo paper, and envelopes in the product.

Load plain paper

Follow these steps to load paper into the main paper tray.

Grasp the main input tray on each side, and then pull it outward until it stops.

If necessary, slide the paper width guides out as far as possible.
Check the paper to make sure that it is not torn, wrinkled or damaged.

Tap one edge of a stack of unused, plain white paper on a flat surface to make sure that the stack is even and aligned.
Insert the paper into the main input tray. Make sure that the paper fits into the tray and is not higher than the notches at the top of the tray.

Slide the paper width guides inward until they rest against the paper. Do not push the guides in so tightly that they bind against the paper.
Slide the input tray back into the product until it clicks into place.
Pull out the tray extender, and then lift up to open the paper catch.

Loading photo paper and cards

Use the following steps to load photo paper or cards into the main paper tray.

Grasp the main input tray on each side, and then pull it outward until it stops.

If necessary, slide the paper width guides out as far as possible.
Insert the paper with the print-side down and the short edge forward into the input tray. Make sure that the paper fits into the tray and is not higher than the notches at the top of the tray.

note:
If the photo paper has a tab alongone edge, make sure the tab is pointing towards the front of the printer.
Adjust the paper width guides inward until they rest against the photo paper or cards. Do not push the guides in so tightly that they bind against the photo paper or cards.
Slide the input tray back into the product until it clicks into place.
Pull out the tray extender, and then lift up to open the paper catch.

Loading envelopes

Use the following steps to load envelopes into the main paper tray.

Grasp the main input tray on each side, and then pull it outward until it stops.

If necessary, slide the paper width guides out as far as possible.
Load envelopes print side down into the input tray.

note:
You can load one or more envelopes in the tray, but do not load more than five envelopes at a time. Do not useshiny or embossed envelopes or envelopes that have clasps or windows.
Adjust the paper width guides inward until they rest against the envelopes. Do not push the guides in so tightly that they bind against the envelopes.
Slide the input tray back into the product until it clicks into place.
Pull out the tray extender, and then lift up to open the paper catch.
