This document explains how to set up the physical parts of the product. Complete these steps before you install the product software on your computer.

This document includes the following steps to set up the product:

Unpack the All-in-One

Connect the power cord and adapter

Turn on power
-
Select the language/region
-
Load plain paper

Install the cartridges

Align the printer
Setting up a new All-in-One
Follow these steps to set up the product hardware and install the software.

Remove all tape from the front and back of the product and from the control panel display.Figure : Remove packing tape

Open the product and remove all the packaging materials from inside the product.Figure : Remove packing materials

Connect the power cord to the back of the product.Figure : Connect the power cord to the product

Connect the power cord to the power supply.Figure : Connect the power cord to the power supply

Press the Power button (
) to turn the product on.

Step four: Select the language/region
After turning the product on, the product displays a list of possible language settings. Use the following steps to set the default language and country/region for your product.

On the product control panel, touch the correct language. Touch the Down Arrow (
) to scroll through the languages, if necessary.

When prompted, touch Yes or No to confirm or reject the language selection.

When prompted, touch Yes or No to confirm or reject the country/region selection.

Raise and hold the output tray in the open position.

Slide the paper width guide to its outermost position.Figure : Slide the paper guide outward

Insert the paper stack into the input tray with the short edge forward and print side down.Figure : Load plain paper

Lower the output tray, and then pull the tray extender towards you, as far as it will go. Flip the paper catch at the end of the tray extender.Figure : Lower the output tray

Press the Power button (
) to turn on the product, if it is not already turned on. Wait until the product is idle and silent before continuing.

Open the cartridge access door. The carriage moves to the center of the product. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before continuing.Figure : Open the cartridge access door

On the new cartridge, pull the orange pull-tab straight back to remove the plastic wrap.Figure : Remove the plastic wrap

Twist the orange cap counter clockwise to snap it off.Figure : Remove the orange cap

With the cartridge contacts facing the printhead, slide the cartridge into the empty slot. Press down on the cartridge until it clicks firmly into place.Figure : Install the cartridge

Repeat these steps to install the other cartridges.Figure : All cartridges installed

Close the cartridge door. The carriage returns to the right side of the product.Figure : Close the cartridge access door
Step seven: Align the product
After installing the cartridges, touch OK on the product control panel. The product automatically prints an alignment page to align the product.
