This document is provided to assist in removing and replacing the SIM card for the HP EliteBook 8530p Notebook PC.

Minimum skill level

The End User requires no hardware-specific training to replace the defective part. The End user should have familiarity with system hardware and software requiring repair.

Parts required

nota:
The SIM Card, (a wireless subscriber identity module) is not an HP part and is provided by a local wireless telephone communications service provider. The SIM slot is located inside the battery bay.

Remove the battery. Click here for instructions on removing the battery.
Press in and release the SIM card to partially eject it from the base enclosure.
Pull the SIM card out of the SIM card slot in the base enclosure.
Place the SIM card in a static dissipative bag.

SIM card replacement

Remove the SIM card from the static dissipative bag.
With the circuit etching facing up, insert and press the SIM card into the SIM card slot in the base enclosure.
