DESCRIPTION

The Thunderbolt firmware may not be updated when using Windows Update. When this issue occurs, the firmware update process remains incomplete after the computer is restarted.

note:
If the system BIOS was updated prior to the Thunderbolt firmware, then this issue may not occur.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue from occurring, download and install the latest BIOS.

note:
The Thunderbolt firmware is integrated into the BIOS SoftPaq.

HP recommends updating to the latest BIOS and using it together with the Thunderbolt firmware available from HP websites.
