DESCRIPTION
The HP st5742 and st5747 streaming thin clients may fail to initiate the iSCSI target when connected to managed enterprise class network switches.
Symptoms:
Systems will hang during iSCSI boot when connected to an enterprise switch. Systems boot successfully if an inexpensive unmanaged multiport style hub is used or if the unit is connected directly to the server.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, update the Broadcom Ethernet NIC NetLink network card driver to version 14.6.0.3 or higher. This driver can be obtained from the Broadcom website here:
http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netlink_k57.php
Additionally, systems running Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or newer will need to update the system BIOS to version 1.04 or newer. The latest BIOS is available via a SoftPaq.
NOTE
To download SoftPaqs:
  1. Click the link above to go to the Download drivers and software page.
  2. Click the link for the HP st5747 Streaming Client model.
  3. Click the link for the Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit) operating system.
  4. Click the BIOS link.
  5. Click the SoftPaq link: HP Compaq Thin Client Series System BIOS (786R8 BIOS).
  6. Read the instructions and release notes carefully before proceeding.
  7. Click the Download button to download the SoftPaq.
