HP Business Inkjet 2800 Printer Series - Printing a Configuration Page

Information
A configuration page provides more information about any issue associated with the printer. The page can be printed from the control panel. From a Microsoft Windows operating system, the configuration page can also be printed from the Toolbox.
Details
Use the configuration page to view current printer settings, to help troubleshoot printer issues, and to verify installation of optional accessories, such as trays. The configuration page also contains a log of recent events. If the printer is connected to a network, an additional network configuration page prints; this page shows the network settings for the printer.
If you need to call HP, keep the printer configuration page, because it provides information that might be useful to the Customer Care Center when troubleshooting a printer issue.
To print a configuration page, complete the following steps:
1. Ensure that the printer is turned on.
2. Press the Select button on the control panel.
3. Ensure that the INFORMATION MENU is highlighted, and then press the Select button.
4. Press the down arrow button until PRINT CONFIGURATION PAGE is highlighted, and then press the Select button.
The configuration page will look like the following:
  note:
If an HP Jetdirect print server is installed, an additional HP Jetdirect configuration page prints. This page shows the network settings for the print server. If the auto-duplex unit is installed, and the duplex option is set to On in the LCD control panel, do not remove the page from the printer until both sides are finished printing.
The HP Jetdirect configuration page will look like the following:
The configuration page provides the following information:
  • Printer Information: shows general printer information, such as firmware version number, model name, and memory installed.
  • Ink Cartridge Status: shows estimated ink levels, and expiration date.
  • Printhead Status: shows printhead health status, and whether the printhead needs to be replaced.
  • Event Log: shows a log of recent events that occurred
