Select the paper size

Learn how to select the paper size for your print job from the software program in Windows.

  1. From the software program, select the Print option.

  2. Select the printer, and then click the Properties or Preferences button.

    Note:

    The name of the button varies for different software programs.

  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.

  4. In the Paper size drop-down list, select the paper size for your print job, and then click OK.

  5. In the Print dialog box, click OK or Print to print the job.

Create a custom paper size

Learn how to create a custom paper size for your print job from the software program in Windows.

In addition to the instructions below, you can view the following video of how to create a custom paper size for your print job.

  1. From the software program, select the Print option.

  2. Select the printer, and then click the Properties or Preferences button.

    Note:

    The name of the button varies for different software programs.

  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.

  4. Click the Custom button, and then click New.

  5. In the Name text field, type a name for the custom paper size.

  6. In the Width and Height fields, specify the width and height of the paper.

    • The width is the short edge of the paper

    • The length/height is the long edge of the paper

  7. Click Add to save the custom paper size, and then click OK.

    The new custom paper size will display in the Paper size field.

  8. Click the OK button to close the Properties dialog.

  9. In the Print dialog box, click OK or Print to print the job.
