This document is for HP Color LaserJet Pro M282nw, M283cdw, M283fdn, and M283fdw printers.

This document contains instructions for printing self-test pages, including the Configuration Report, Supplies Status Page, Network Summary page, Wireless Test Report, Print Quality Page, Diagnostics Page, Usage Page, Service Page, and Fax Test Report.

Some features and test pages might not be available, depending on your printer model.

Print a Configuration Report

Print a Configuration Report for information about the printer, such as the serial number, memory usage, paper and copy settings, and printer usage. Wireless printer models also include information about the printer IP address and the network name (SSID).

Load plain paper into the main input tray.
On the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup.
Touch Reports.
Touch Configuration Report.

The Configuration Report prints.

Print a Supplies Status page

Print a Supplies Status page for information about the estimated toner level, toner cartridge numbers, and printer usage.

Load plain paper in the main input tray.
On the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup.
Touch Reports.
Touch Supplies Status.

The Supplies Status page prints.

Print a Network Summary page

Print a Network Summary page for information about the wireless or wired network connection status.

Load plain paper in the main input tray.
On the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup.
Touch Reports.
Swipe up on the display, and then touch Network Summary.

The Network Summary prints.

Print a Wireless Network Test Report

Print a Wireless Network Test Report to make sure your wireless connection is functioning correctly or to troubleshoot wireless connectivity issues.

Load plain paper in the main input tray.
On the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup.
Touch Self Diagnostics.
Touch Run Wireless Test.

The Wireless Network Test Report prints.

Print a Print Quality page

Print a Print Quality page to check for print quality issues.

Load plain paper in the main input tray.
On the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup.
Touch Reports.
Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Quality Page.

The Print Quality page prints.

Print a Diagnostics Page

Print a Diagnostics Page to check color calibration and print density.

Load plain paper in the main input tray.
On the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup.
Touch Reports.
Swipe up on the display, and then touch Diagnostics Page.

The Diagnostics Page prints.
