How to enable/disable the user definable splash screen during post.

SCOPE
Armada E500, Armada E700, Armada M300, Armada M700, Armada V300 with user definable Splash Screen during post.
RESOLUTION
Instructions on how to enable/disable the user definable splash screen (information displayed during post, e.g. Compaq Logo Screen) during post is not clear. There is no need to replace the system board or clear CMOS to change or disable the user definable splash screen.
Use the following procedure to display (enable) and customize the user definable splash screen during post.
  1. During boot, enter the power-on password if required, press F10 when you see the cursor on the upper right during the Compaq logo screen.
  2. From the Security menu select System ID's.
  3. From the System ID section edit/add the information needing to be displayed during the Compaq logo screen during Boot in the NOTEBOOK OWNERSHIP TAG field.
  4. Press F10 to accept the changes.
  5. From the FILE MENU, select save changes and exit.
  6. Press F10 to confirm the changes.
To remove (disable) the user definable splash screen during post, follow the above procedure, but delete any text in the NOTEBOOK OWNERSHOP TAG field.
