iPAQ Pocket PCs - WiFi Connection Lost While Synchronizing with the Host PC

Information
When synchronizing the iPAQ with the Host PC, the WiFi network connection is lost.
Details
Windows Mobile 5.0 disables wireless connections if the iPAQ is connected to the Host PC. This is a Windows Mobile 5.0 security feature.

When the Wi-Fi radio is ON, it automatically detects Wi-Fi networks. While connected to secured sites, you may be required to give a login ID and password.
If the Wi-Fi is ON when the iPAQ is connected to the Host PC, the WiFi connection will be lost. If you try to connect to the WiFi network again with the unit connected to the Host PC, it will not connect because you are trying to use two different networks -wired (host PC LAN pass through with iPAQ) and the wireless.

This is seen as a vulnerability by Microsoft and hence they have designed Windows Mobile 5.0 to disable the wireless drivers when the iPAQ is connected to a Host PC. When the iPAQ is disconnected from the host PC, the wireless drivers are automatically loaded and it connects to any open WiFi network you select. Also note that with Windows Mobile 5.0 Wi-Fi ActiveSync with host PC is disabled.

This is a Windows Mobile 5.0 feature and should not be considered as a product limitation.
