HP Products - Where Do I Find Windows 10 Drivers and Software for My Model?

For computers sold after August 2013 with compatible hardware, HP has tested and approved specific software and drivers to support Windows 10. See hp.com/go/windows10upgradenow to check if your computer model was tested by HP.

If your computer is not tested by HP or software and drivers are not available on the HP site for Windows 10, use Windows Update in Windows 10 to get the latest software and drivers. HP and the other hardware manufacturers of components in your computer will release updated software and drivers in Windows Update when they are tested and approved.

Installing updates in Windows 10

Find and install updated software and hardware drivers for your computer.

Check for updates

Find and install updated software and hardware drivers for your computer with Windows 10.

Restart your PC to ensure any updates previously downloaded are correctly installed.
In Windows, search for and open Windows Update.

The Windows Update menu opens.
Click one of the following options, if presented, on the Windows Update window:
- If updates are available to download, click Install now.
- If no updates are currently listed, click Check for updates, and then click Install now after Windows detects available updates.
Restart your computer to complete the installation of the updates.

Update the graphics driver

Windows Update will automatically load the correct drivers upon upgrade. If the correct drivers were unable to be installed on upgrade, you might need to manually update the graphics driver using Windows Update following these steps:

In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
In the list of devices, expand Display adapters.
Right-click the graphics device and select Update Driver Software.
Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated driver.
Restart your computer to complete the installation of the updates.

Update other specific components

If a specific hardware component (such as the touchpad, video display, or keyboard) is not working correctly, or is missing functionality, update the component driver in Device Manager using the following steps:

In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
In the list of devices, expand the component you want to update.
Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software.
Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated driver.
Restart your computer to complete the installation of the updates.

Are there alternative drivers available?

Third-party forums and websites might suggest alternative driver solutions or workarounds that HP does not support that might work with your product. Take precautions to protect your computer from viruses or malware before you install any driver or software from an external source.

Can I revert back to my previous operating system?

If after upgrading to Windows 10 you have decided that the experience does not meet your expectation, there are a few ways to revert back to the operating system you upgraded from. Please read each item carefully before determining your recovery option as the condition of your operating system and data will vary based on your selection.

Go back to previous versions of Windows

Go Back is a feature that returns your computer to the previous operating system that was installed before you upgraded to Windows 10.

note:
The Go Back option is only available for 28 days after the installation of Windows 10. If you perform a disc cleanup, refresh, or reset in Windows 10, you do not have the option to go back. If you have deleted the windows.old file from your computer, you do not have the option to go back. If your installation required an external USB drive you must use the same drive to go back.

Before you go back to a previous version of Windows, do the following:
- Although your personal files should not be affected by going back, it is recommended that you should back up all important data (personal files, photos, videos, documents, applications, software, etc.) before going back, to avoid any possibility of losing your important data.
- If you were using a different password with the previous Windows version on your computer, you might need your old password.
- Keep your PC powered on and plugged in to a power source for the duration of the go back.
- After going back, you might need to reinstall some apps and programs, and any settings changes are lost.
In Windows, search for go back, and then click Go back to an earlier build.
The Recovery window opens in Settings. In the Go back to an earlier build section, click Get started.
On the Why are you going back? screen, select an answer, type more details into the Tell us more field (optional), and then click Next.
Read the What you need to know screen, and then click Next.
Windows reminds you that you will need your old password, if applicable. Click Next.
Click Go back to an earlier build.
Wait while your system is restored to the previous version of Windows. Do not turn off or unplug the computer.

When Go Back is complete, log in with the user account and password from your previous version of Windows.

Perform a computer reset

If you are unable to revert back to your previous operating system, you can perform a system reset to reinstall the operating system that came with your computer. Go to Resetting Your Computer (Windows 10) for more information.
