Samsung ProXpress MFP SL-M4560, SL-M4562 - Tray Settings

To change detailed tray settings, touch Settings > Tray Settings and select the appropriate tray and options on the display screen.
Figure : Tray settings display
  • Tray 1, MP Tray: Users can set the Paper Size and Paper Type.
  • Tray 2, Tray 3, Tray 4: Users can see when the optional tray is installed, then users can set the Paper Size and Paper Type.
  • Paper Size: Allows users to change the paper size.
    • Users can change the paper list on the display screen. The paper lists are divided into the available A/B type and letter type paper in this printer.
    • If there is no required size paper or users need to use custom sized paper, press the cardinal point arrows to set the paper size. Users can also set and save the custom size using Custom Size. Users can select the custom size whenever required.
  • Paper Type: Allows users to change the paper type.

Options

Scroll through the options by swiping up and down.
  • Auto Tray Switch: Determine whether the printer continues printing when it detects the paper does not match. For example, if both Tray 1 and Tray 2 are filled with the same size paper, the printer automatically prints from Tray 2 after Tray 1 runs out of paper.
  • Auto Continue: This option allows users to continue printing when the paper size set is mismatched with the paper in the tray. When this option is activated, the printer continues printing using similar or large size paper. If this option is inactivated, the printer waits until the required size paper is loaded in the tray.
  • Paper Substitution: When the requested paper for a print job is not available in the tray, this feature allows users to substitute similar paper size. For example, if the requested letter sized paper is not available in the tray, this printer substitutes A4 for the requested paper.
    note:
When the paper is substituted, some image loss might occur.
  • Tray Confirmation Message: When users load paper into a tray, users can set the confirmation message to appear automatically. This printer can detect some paper sizes and types automatically. If users want to set the paper size and type, or the printer cannot detect them, users can set the size and type directly in the confirmation window.
  • Tray Protection: If users set Tray 1 to On, then Tray 1 is excluded during tray switching.
    note:
This setting works for copy or print jobs: It does not affect fax jobs.
  • Tray Priority Settings: Users can set the tray priority. If the first setting is Tray 1, the printer automatically prints from Tray 1 after the second setting tray runs out of paper.
  • Letterhead mode: This mode allows users to use single-sided or duplex printing without changing the direction of paper in a tray when printing on papers with orientation such as Letterhead, Preprinted or Punch type papers.
