HP Color LaserJet CM1312 and CM2320MFP Series - Full Software Installation Sticks During the Installation of Microsoft .NET Framework

Issue

Full software installation sticks during the installation of Microsoft .NET Framework.
When installing the HP Full Solution software, it may stick/hang at around 15 percent. During this installation, it will try to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, which is essential for the ToolBox FX to function correctly. This issue can occur with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition, Tablet PC Edition and Windows Server 2003. This issue will occur if any of the following conditions exists on the PC:
  • If Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 or Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is installed on the computer, because it will not allow to install any previous (older) version of Microsoft .NET Framework.
  • If the installed Microsoft .NET Framework got corrupted (which is/are already installed on the computer).

Solution

  1. If the installation sticks then uninstall the software.
  2. Reboot the PC
  3. Reinstall the software, if it detects the incorrect .NET version is installed then the Software Installer will install the correct version of .NET needed.
    It is common that there are newer versions of .NET available, especially if the HP device is an older product that would have made use of whatever version of .NET was available at the time the software was released.
