HP Notebook PCs - Notebook PC Battery May Not Be Detected in Dual Battery Configuration and Notebook Charging Light Flashes at 1 Second Intervals

DESCRIPTION
Notebook PCs using a dual battery configuration may
  • Notebook may intermittently not power up.
  • The Notebook PC may not recognize the presence of either of the installed batteries.
  • If one battery is detected, the notebook PC charging light may flash at 1 second intervals, indicating a miscommunication with the second battery.
Removal and re-insertion of the batteries resets the condition.
Microsoft Windows Power Options properties Power Meter may report one of the two batteries as "not present."
