HP Designjet 1000 Series Printers - Ink Cartridge Rejection Issues

Introduction

The printer is displaying continuous RESEAT, REPLACE, or possibly FAULTY ink cartridge messages, and re-installing and/or replacing the ink cartridge does not resolve the issue.
Follow the steps below to ensure the ink supply station (ISS) is correctly latched into place:
  1. Turn the printer off, and unplug the power cable from the printer.
  2. Remove all of the ink cartridges.

  3. Go to the back of the printer to access the ISS cover (right-side, back of the printer).
  4. Using a T15 Torx, remove the two screws securing the ISS cover.

  5. Pull the ISS cover back towards you to access the ISS assembly.

  6. Check the ISS latches to ensure they are latched.

  7. If the ISS is not latched, move the latches into the notches as shown in Figure 4 above.
  8. Once the ISS is properly latched, close the ISS cover.
  9. Re-install the cover screws.
  10. Re-install the ink cartridges, plug in the power cable and turn the printer on.
  11. Attempt to verify functionality.
  12. If the problem persists and the failing ink cartridge(s) have been replaced, contact HP support.
