This document pertains to the HP Pro Tablet 408 Active Pen.
Use the HP Pro Tablet 408 Active Pen to write messages and notes in your own handwriting directly on your HP Pro Tablet 408 G1 screen and to navigate touchscreen activities.

Using the pen

It is important to hold the pen correctly.
To hold the pen correctly, place your finger and thumb to the sides of the button.

Do not touch the button or hold the pen with your fingers above the button.

The following information describes how to use the pen:
  • To write or draw on the screen, or to interact with your touch applications, touch the tip lightly on the screen.
  • To create a bolder stroke, press harder on the screen with the digital pen. The active stylus uses inherent pressure sensitivity.
  • To erase, highlight, or click, press the upper button (1) or the lower button (2).
    nota:
    Button functions might vary depending on the software being used.
    To save power, the active stylus goes into sleep mode after it is idle for one minute. To turn it on, either touch it to the screen and lift it, or press the button on the side of the pen.
    nota:
    Remove the battery (3) when storing the active stylus to prevent battery leaks.

Damage to the pen

Dropping, bending, or pressing too hard on the pen can cause damage that prevents proper function.
  • Inspect the pen tip for damage. A is a normal working pen, B is due to a drop or heavy press.

  • Inspect the center barrel for damage. A is a normal working pen, B is due to a heavy press or bending the middle and front barrel structure.
