HP Designjet ULE Printer series - Printheads Rejection Issues and Troubleshooting

Questions/Symptoms

Machine rejects the printheads
Machine rejects the printheads randomly.

Cause

Printhead defective
Electronic failure caused by printhead
Electronic failure caused by carriage pca/tubes/iss
Printeads do not receive enough ink.

Answer/Solution

TROUBLESHOOTING
1. check that all the phs are under normal warranty.


If the answer is yes please remove all the printheads.

2. Clean the printheads contacts.


3. Clean the carriage contacts.


4. Close the cover and restart the pinter without printheads,


machine should show the icon below:

4. Put just one Phs and close the carriage cover, if the machine recognizes the Phs continue with another one.



5. In the moment that the printer shows an error or keeps stalled or rejects the phs randomly, please remove the last printhead inserted, an continue with the rest.
Please replace the phs defective that is causing an electrical failure in the carriage PCA.

6. Also check that the cartridges has enough ink feeding up the phs. and if they are HP original Brand.

If, after implementing the steps mentioned above there are no visible failures in the printheads or carriage contacts, and the machine continues to showing printheads issues then the issue could be related to the carriage, E module or Ink Supply Station. For further troubleshooting steps or solutions for these type of issues, do not hesitate to contact HP Support Center
