HP Products Tested with Windows 10

If you do not know the model, use one of the following methods and write down the information of the current HP PC.

• Notebook PCs
  You can find the model number on a label located on the outside of the notebook. On some computers, the label is inside the main battery compartment, and you must remove the battery to read the label. When you have found the product identification label, find the model number shown next to Model.
  The model number provides the necessary series number to identify your computer in the table. For example, if your model number is HP 15-af102us then the series name for your computer is HP 15-af100.
  For configure-to-order PCs (CTO) the model number may contain a "t" or "z" prior to the hyphen. For example, if your model number is HP 15t-af102us then the series name for your computer is HP 15-af100.
• Desktop and All-in-One PCs
  In Windows, press the following keys at the same time CTRL + ALT + S. Note the Product Name displayed in the results.

To better align with the Microsoft Windows as a Service (WaaS) 30-month support model for Enterprise and Education editions, HP is immediately adding support for previous versions of Windows 10 from the Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) on select new product platforms, enabling a more seamless transition from one supported Windows 10 release version to the next.

All HP Pro 600, Elite series, ZBook and Z Desktop PCs, shipping with an 8th generation Intel® CPU ending in 5U or 5UE editions and newer, will receive support for the current Windows 10 release and two (2) previous releases of Windows 10 versions.

For example, the HP EliteBook 840 G6 series platform that began shipping in May 2019 will be tested with the then-current version of Windows (1903), as well as the previous two (2) versions (1809 and 1803). Windows 10 volume license holders who are standardizing on the previous fall release of Windows version 1809 will be able to maintain their deployed version of Windows 10 on this new hardware.

Additionally, select new notebook platform releases with a 2019 8th generation Intel® CPU ending in 5U or 5UE editions will receive support for Windows 10 October 2020 Update release version 1709, enabling customers to manage their entire fleet of devices using a single version of Windows 10.

HP support activities for HP commercial notebook, desktop, and workstations under the WaaS operating system (OS) update model include:

• When a new HP commercial notebook, desktop or workstation is released, HP tests both the current and previous versions of the Windows 10 semi-annual channel. The device receives the "Preinstalled" support rating.
• During the manufacturing life of each HP commercial notebook, desktop and workstation, HP continues to test each newly introduced Windows 10 semi-annual channel. The device receives the "Preinstalled" support rating.
• Once manufacturing a specific product has ended, HP continues to test each newly introduced Windows 10 semi-annual channel for a period of three (3) years. During this time, the device may receive either a support rating of "Web Support" or "Compatible Driver Support."
• Z branded desktops workstations will continue to test each newly introduced semi-annual channel for a period of five (5) years after the end of manufacturing. During this time, the device may receive either a support rating of "Web Support" or "Compatible Driver Support" and are signified with a single asterisk *.
• Select products are not eligible for three (3) years testing following the end of manufacture. These products are tested for two (2) years following the last released version of Windows 10 during the time of manufacturing and are signified with two asterisks **.

All products have a lifecycle; the date when a product is released to the date when it is no longer supported. This end date is also known as End of Service (EOS). A product entry displaying EOS of xxxx means the product is not supported past that Windows version number.
