Replace toner cartridges in HP Color LaserJet Pro M254 printers

Replace low or empty cartridges in HP LaserJet Pro M254 printers.

Purchase ink or toner cartridges

Replacement ink and toner is available from HP and local retailers.

Go to the HP Store.
Select your country/region and language.
Click Ink & toner at the top of the page.
Follow the instructions to find and order the cartridges for your printer.

Install replacement toner cartridges

Install new cartridges in an HP Color LaserJet Pro M254 printer.

Open the front door.
Pull out the toner cartridge drawer.
Pull the toner cartridge straight up to remove it.
Remove the new toner cartridge package from the box, and then pull the release tab.
Remove the toner cartridge from the packaging.

CAUTION:
Do not touch the imaging drum on the bottom of the toner cartridge. Fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print quality problems.
Rock the toner cartridge back and forth to distribute the toner.
Insert the new toner cartridge into the drawer.

Make sure the toner color of the cartridge matches the toner color on the drawer.
Push the toner cartridge drawer into the printer.
Close the front door.
