When copying from the HP printer, learn how to reduce or enlarge an image to fit on the printed page.

Note:

The steps vary according to the type of control panel.

Find your printer control-panel type in the options below, and then follow the steps to reduce or enlarge a copy image.

FutureSmart 3

Follow these steps if your printer has a FutureSmart 3 touchscreen control panel.

  1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Copy button.

  2. Touch the Reduce/Enlarge option.

  3. Touch one of the predefined percentages, or touch the Scaling field and enter a percentage, then touch the OK button.

    When copying from the document feeder, use a percentage between 25 and 200. When copying from the scanner glass, use a percentage between 25 and 400. You can also select these options:

    • Auto: The printer automatically scales the image to fit the paper size in the tray.

    • Auto Include Margins: The printer reduces the image slightly to fit the entire scanned image within the printable area on the page.

    Note:

    To reduce the image, select a scaling percentage that is less than 100. To enlarge the image, select a scaling percentage that is greater than 100.

  4. Touch the Start button Start button to begin copying.

FutureSmart 4

Follow these steps if your printer has a FutureSmart 4 touchscreen control panel.

  1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch Copy.

  2. Touch Options in the lower left corner, and then touch Reduce/Enlarge in the list of options.

  3. Touch Automatic, or touch Manual and enter a percentage between 25 and 400, then touch Done.

    Note:

    To reduce the image, select a scaling percentage that is less than 100. To enlarge the image, select a scaling percentage that is greater than 100.

  4. To adjust the number of copies, touch the box to the left of the Copy button.

    A touch keypad will display.

  5. Enter the number of copies using the touch keypad, and then touch Copy.
