HP EliteBook and ProBook Notebook PCs - Blank Screen on External HDMI Displays

There is no picture on external display.

Description

There is no picture on the external HDMI display when it is connected to the computer using an HDMI cable.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, disable High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) in AMD Software. Follow the instructions to disable the HDCP.

  1. Open AMD Software.

  2. Navigate to Gaming > Display > Display 2, (make sure the external display is selected which is Display 2 in this case). In the bottom right there will be an “Overrides” drop down.

  3. Clicking on the “Overrides” dropdown you will be prompted for a EULA. Click Read & Accept the EULA.

  4. Click Proceed.

  5. Click toggle button to disable HDCP support (Default is Enabled)

  6. Click on Restart Now.
