HP Notebooks - Update Firmware on Certain Solid State Drives to prevent possible Hard Disk 3F0 Errors

DESCRIPTION
HP strongly recommends updating the firmware on the solid state drives (SSDs) listed in the SCOPE. If you do not update the firmware, in time the drives may begin may begin to experience the issues indicated below. These issues may occur intermittently for a while but will eventually result in permanent failure of the drive unless you update the firmware.
Issue 1: The computer fails to boot and the following error is displayed during POST:
Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk.
Hard Disk - (3F0)
Issue 2: Attempting to check the drive using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI fails with the following error:
No hard drive installed. Please check that the power and data cables are connected properly.
Issue 3: The following SMART Check error is displayed:
SMART Check : WARNING
Short DST : NOT AVAILABLE

RESOLUTION
HP strongly recommends updating your drive firmware, even if it is not currently exhibiting the issues mentioned in the DESCRIPTION. Updating the firmware will prevent the issues from occurring in future. If the computer will boot, use the following SoftPaq to update your drive firmware.
