HP ENVY 6200, 7100, 7800 Printers - Replacement Printer Instructions

This document is for HP ENVY Photo 6220, 6230, 6232, 6234, 6252, 6255, 7120, 7130, 7134, 7155, 7164, 7820, 7830, 7855, 7858, and 7864 All-in-One printers.
When HP replaces your defective product, some accessories or parts need to be transferred from the defective product to the replacement product.
  note:
  • Some optional accessories might not be included with your product model.
  • Keep any optional accessories that you bought separately.
Before you send your defective printer to HP, follow these instructions to make sure you remove the correct accessories to use with your new printer.
  note:
If you have an HP Instant Ink subscription and were using HP Instant Ink cartridges in your old printer, they do not work in your new printer. Go to Replacing or Adding Printers to Your Account for more information.
  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  3. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.
  4. Lightly press down on the ink cartridge to release it, and then pull the ink cartridge out of its slot.
      caution:
Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.

  5. If you are not inserting the ink cartridges into the replacement printer immediately, store them at room temperature inside a sealed plastic container. Store the color ink cartridge with the nozzles down and the black ink cartridge with the nozzles up. This helps prevent the ink from drying out.
  6. Turn off the printer.
  7. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer, and then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, surge protector, extension cable, or power strip.
  8. Keep the following accessories to use with the replacement printer:
    • Power cord
