HP PCs - Configuring the LED Lighting with the HP Phoenix Control Software

This document applies to HP ENVY Phoenix desktop computers with customizable LED Lights.

Customizing the LED Lighting

The HP Phoenix Control software utility allows you to customize the RGB light bar on HP ENVY Phoenix computers to reflect the status of CPU usage or temperature. From the Lighting Mode drop-down list, you can select one of the options to configure the color scheme, or select Off to disable the RGB light bar.
To change the LED lighting, in Windows, search for and open HP Phoenix Control.

The following information describes the lighting modes that are available and how to customize the colors.

Single Color

Select Single Color to use a pre-defined color. The Advanced tab allows you to customize the color, saturation, and brightness. HP recommends that you set Saturation to 100% and Brightness to 50% if you use the Advanced settings.

Color Show

Select the Color Show option to have the RGB light bar cycle through up to four pre-defined colors. The Simple tab allows you to select pre-defined colors and the speed at which the colors cycle. The Advanced tab allows you to customize the color, saturation, and brightness of the colors.
HP recommends that you set Saturation to 100% and Brightness to 50% if you use the Advanced settings.

CPU Temperature

Select CPU Temperature and then select a pre-defined color gradient to represent the CPU temperature.

CPU Usage

Select CPU Usage and then select a pre-defined color gradient that represent the CPU usage.

Off

Select this option to turn off the RGB light bar.

Updating and reinstalling the HP Phoenix Control software

If the Phoenix Control software is not working correctly, use one of the following methods to download or reinstall it.

Reinstalling the Phoenix Control software using Recovery Manager
