HP Officejet Printers - Replacement Printer Instructions

This document is for HP Officejet 6812, 6815, 6820, Officejet Pro 6830, and 6835 e-All-in-One printers.
When HP replaces your defective product, some accessories or parts need to be transferred from the defective product to the replacement product.
  note:
  • Some optional accessories might not be included with your product model.
  • Keep any optional accessories that you bought separately.

Instructions
Before you replace or dispose of your defective printer, follow these instructions to make sure that you remove the correct accessories before you send it back to HP.
  note:
If you have an HP Instant Ink subscription and were using Instant Ink cartridges in your old printer, they will not work in your new printer. New Instant Ink cartridges are required for the new printer and will be shipped separately.
  1. Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it not already on.
  2. Remove the cartridges.

  3. Recycle or discard the cartridges.
  4. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer, and then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, surge protector, extension cable, or power strip.
  6. Keep the following accessories to use with the replacement printer:
    • Power supply adapter

    • Power cord

    • Ethernet cable

    • Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable

    • Printer manuals

    • CDs

  7. Connect the power cord to the rear of the replacement printer, and then plug it into a wall outlet.
  8. Press the Power button to turn on the replacement printer, and then test all printer functions.
