HP LaserJet P2015 Printer Series - Unable to Print PCL 5, Arial and Helvetica Fonts Through SAP

Issue

While printing through a SAP platform to an HP LaserJet P2015 Printer Series, some of the fonts may not print properly or may not print at all. Also, in a SAP Environment, Arial and Helvetica Fonts cannot be selected.

Solution

The HP LaserJet P2015 Printer Series is equipped with a limited set of PCL 5 fonts (courier and line printer). This limits printing to these specific fonts when printing through a SAP environment.
Most of the HP printers have a printer-specific device type for the SAP printer, which ensures proper functionality between the SAP data stream and the printer where the data is sent. Since the HP LaserJet P2015 does not have a series-specific device type, instead of using a printer-specific SAP device type for Microsoft Windows printing, use the SAPWIN device type which requires server-based printing through SAPSprint or Frontend Printing using SAPgui. For non-Microsoft Windows printing environments such as UNIX or LINUX, use the POST2 device type.
note:
If required, HP LaserJet P2015 printer can be upgraded with a complete set of PCL 5 fonts by installing a PCL 5 Font DIMM.
The Part Number for the Font DIMM is CE517-67903.
Arial and Helvetica Fonts cannot be selected in SAP Environment
There is a font DIMM available from JetCaps which once installed will make these two fonts available for use when printing in a SAP environment.
