HP Designjet 30/111/130/110 Plus - Printer Takes Long Pauses Between Prints and a Press Action Button is Displayed in the Control Panel

Issue:
The printer will take long pauses (4-10 minutes) between prints and there is a “press action button” on the printer display to continue printing immediately. This happens in Mac and PC operating systems. This can be the cause of a media selection or dry time setting in the driver.
Solution
Modify either the media type, or change the dry time setting as shown below:
  • PC - go into the printing preferences in the driver, click on the Paper Quality tab, click the Advanced Paper Settings, and slide the slider bar to Light in the Dry Time section for less dry time, and slide the bar to Dark to increase the dry time.
  • Mac - go into the print dialog box, select the Drop Down item that displays Copies and Pages. Click on Paper type and Quality in the drop down and select the Ink tab. In the Ink tab there is a slider for the dry time. Move the bar towards Less to decrease the dry time or slide it to More to increase the dry time.
    note:
The closer you slide the bar to the Light in the Dry Time section the shorter the waiting time will be between prints. In some cases the driver may be corrupt and is setting a long dry time in all the media selections or you have to press continue between all prints no matter what. To resolve it you must remove and reinstall the driver.
