Follow the installation steps provided below to install an HP Designjet printer driver onto the touch-screen system.

Close the scanning software.

From the windows desktop press Start, Settings, and then Printers.

At the printers window double press Add printer.

At the Add Printer Wizard screen press Next.Figure : Add Printer Wizard

Select Local printer, even if connecting via a network.Figure : Local printer selection

Select LPT1 and click Next.Figure : Selecting port

At the Manufacturers and Printers screen select Have Disk.Figure : Have Disk option

The install from disk screen comes up. Click Browse.Figure : Install from disk screen

Browse the C: drive and select the following path:

For HP Designjet 500, 800, 5000, 5500, and 100 series printers (HP-GL/2 driver): C:\Programfiles\hp\HP Designjet Driver Installer\HPGL2RAS\en\win2000

For HP Designjet 1000 series (HP-GL/2 driver): C:\Programfiles\hp\HP Designjet Driver Installer\HPGL2\en\win2000.

To install the Post-Script driver (if available), install from the driver CD, or click here to download the driver from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Home.jsp?locale=en_US.

After selecting the appropriate path, click Open.

From this list select the correct printer, and then click Next.Figure : Printer selection screen

Leave the default printer name and click Next.Figure : Name the printer screen

Select Do not share printer and then click Next.Figure : Sharing printer screen

Select No on the windows test page screen, and then select Next.Figure : Print test page screen

The files will copy and install the driver.Figure : Copying files screen

Go to the printers folder and make sure that the printer installed correctly.Figure : Printers window

If the printer is connected via parallel, right-mouse click the printer icon, scroll to Properties and print a test page.Figure : Printer properties screen

If the printer is connected via USB go into Properties, Ports and select the USB port. Print a test page to confirm functionality.
TCP/IP Configuration

Highlight the driver, right-mouse click and select Properties.

Select the Ports tab.Figure : Ports tab

Click Add Port.

Highlight HP Standard TCP/IP Port.

Select New Port.Figure : Printer ports screen

Click Next.Figure : TCP/IP port wizard

Type in the IP address and select Next.
note:
Port name is not necessary.Figure : Add port screen -
Click Close.

Select Apply and then OK.

Highlight the driver, right-click and select Properties.

Select the General tab print a test page.
