HP Retail System Peripherals - HP is providing an OPOS Driver Update

DETAILS OF CHANGE

Effective February 26, 2015, the industry standard OPOS Common Control Objects (CCOs) drivers for Retail Point of Sale peripherals have been updated to address potential security and execution issues. Customers are advised to update to the latest CCOs at their earliest convenience. The new CCO package V1.13.003 is currently available for download from HP's support website under the “Software – POS” section for owners of:

HP RP2 Retail System, Models 2000, 2020, and 2030
HP RP3 Retail System, Model 3100
HP RP5 Retail System, Model 5810
HP RP7 Retail System, Models 7100 and 7800
HP ap5000 All-in-One Point of Sale System
HP rp3000 Point of Sale System
HP rp5700 Desktop PC
HP rp5800 Retail System

REASON FOR CHANGE

Industry wide issue resulting in potential security and execution issues for the OPOS drivers used on Retail Point of Sale peripherals.

IMPACT OF CHANGE

Customers who use HP’s image or who build their own image will need to update the CCOs using the updated drivers posted to the HP website on March 1, 2015.
