Clearing the CMOS settings

This jumper allows you to clear the Real Time Clock (RTC) RAM in CMOS. To clear CMOS, follow these steps:

Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
Move the jumper cap to clear for 5 to 10 secs, then move the jumper cap back to default.
Plug the power cord and turn ON the computer
During the restart process, enter BIOS setup to re-enter user settings.

This jumper allows you to clear the BIOS password. The BIOS password is used to protect BIOS settings from unwanted changes. If you have forgotten your password you may disable password checking.
