Loading Paper and Envelopes for the HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf, M1537dnf, M1538dnf, and M1539dnf Multifunction Printers

Introduction

This document describes how to load paper and envelopes into tray 1 and the priority input tray. Use tray 1 to print up to 10 envelopes or up to 250 sheets of paper. Use the priority input tray to print one envelope or up to 10 sheets of special paper.

Loading paper

Follow these steps to load paper into tray 1 or the priority input tray.

Loading paper into tray 1

Follow these steps to load paper into tray 1.

Slide the paper guides to their outermost positions.
Load the paper with the top forward and the print side facing up.

Slide the paper guides inward to fit snugly against the paper.

Use the priority input tray to print one envelope or up to 10 sheets of special paper.

Loading envelopes

Follow these guidelines and steps to load envelopes.

Envelope guidelines

Before loading and printing on envelopes, review the following guidelines.

Use envelopes recommended only for laser printers.
Use envelopes with peel-off adhesive strips that are approved for use in laser printers.
Use envelopes with seams extending to the corners.

Do not use envelopes with clasps, snaps, windows, coated linings, self-stick adhesives, or other synthetic materials that are susceptible to heat.
Do not use envelopes that are wrinkled, nicked, stuck together, or otherwise damaged.

Loading envelopes into tray 1

Follow these steps to load tray 1 with envelopes.
