HP Compaq dc7900 Convertible Minitower PC - Removing and Replacing the Access Panel

Introduction

This document is provided to assist in removing and replacing the Access Panel for the HP Compaq dc7900 Convertible Minitower PC.

Minimum skill level

The End User requires no hardware-specific training to replace the defective part. The End user should have familiarity with system hardware and software requiring repair.

Access Panel removal

  1. Review the safety considerations before performing the steps listed below by clicking on the following link:
      caution:
    Failure to comply with the precautions could result in damage to your product or loss of data.
  2. Remove the cable lock and/or padlock, if one is installed.
  3. Lift and hold the access panel release latch.
  4. Slide the panel back about an inch.
  5. Lift the panel away from the chassis.

Access Panel replacement

  1. Place the front edge of the access panel over the front chassis guide rail.
  2. Lower the access panel into position on the chassis.
  3. Ensure that the slot in the back of the access panel is aligned with the padlock grommet.
  4. Hold the release latch up and slide the panel forward until it is flush with the front bezel.
